Portable DB is a mobile version of MySQL 5.0. It can run from any directory Windows 98 or higher on any CD, USB drive or hard drive. PortableDb can run side by side with and installed MySQL. To allow this it runs on port 33060, and the process runs as portablemysqld.exe. You can even install it as a service by clicking on installservice.exe in the bin directory. The service installs as portablemysql. You can uninstall the service at any time with removeservice.exe

The PortableDB 2.0 has the following features:

Run from CD, USB, or Hard Drive
Run multiple Instances of MySQL
Run from system tray.
Run without system tray.
Run as a Service
